Digital Desk: Rahul Gandhi is likely to lead Congress’s charge during the no-confidence motion debate in Lok Sabha on the Manipur issue on Tuesday. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will face the second no-confidence motion on Tuesday in Parliament. Rahul Gandhi visited Manipur in June, so it will be interesting to hear what he has to say in Parliament on the violence-hit state. 

Notably, Rahul Gandhi returned to the parliament on Monday, four months after his membership as Lok Sabha MP was restored.

The discussion on the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha will start at 12 noon and go till 7 pm. The schedule will remain the same for three days till August 10. On the last day, PM Modi will respond to the no-confidence motion at 4 p.m.

As per reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also participate in the discussion on August 9.

The BJP alone has 301 seats in a House where the halfway mark is 272. With NDA allies, the ruling party is expected to sail through this test. For its Lok Sabha MPs to be present in the House from August 7 to August 11, the BJP has issued a three-line whip.
