Rahul's preference for relocating to the Nizamuddin property, which he had "visited several times"...

Digital Desk:  Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi may have discovered a new home at the Nizamuddin (east) property of former Delhi Chief Minister and late Congress veteran Sheila Dikshit.

According to party sources, the 3-BHK property is "one of many locations" that the ex-Wayanad MP is thought to have looked at in the city, and it is supposedly among his top preferences after leads from some common contacts."

According to sources, the current residents of the property, the three-time CM's ex-MP son Sandeep Dikshit and his family, are going to leave and have released material to that effect, which drew the attention of Rahul's office, prompting an investigation.

As Sandeep moves to another home in the nearby area, sources claimed that Rahul was likely to rent the house since he had previously visited it "several times" as well.

The prince of Congress party, Rahul, was found guilty of defamation by a Surat court, the charge made by Surat West BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, who objected to Gandhi's remarks about "thieves with the Modi surname" in Kolar in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in April 2019, Rahul was given a two-year sentence that resulted in his exclusion from the Parliament. The Lok Sabha sent him a notice requesting that he leave the residence assigned to him at 12 Tughlaq Lane as a result.

Rahul has been staying with his mother, Sonia Gandhi, at her 10 Janpath home since and is said to be relocating to the Nizamuddin property.

On July 8, the Gujarat High Court declined to suspend Rahul's conviction in the criminal defamation case, noting that "the offence committed by the accused falls in the category of moral turpitude" and that the "need of the hour" is "purity in politics."
