Are you planning to visit the hills with your squad this winter?  The snow-covered pines and clouds hovering over the mountains are just a sight to relish.

But what if I tell you, you can also enjoy the snow-covered deserts of Rajasthan! Remember that time when it snowed in Rajasthan?  Apparently not but yes it's true, Rajasthan is currently a winter ‘Utopia’.

The desert is now being compared to the heaven on earth – ‘Kashmir’ after the temperature dropped down to -2.6 degrees celsius today morning.

So, the next time you feel too hot, you might just consider skipping the hill stations and heading to Rajasthan instead.

According to IMD, Rajasthan will experience extremely cold weather on consecutive days as the cold wave will hit many areas in the region.

Rajasthan’s Fatehpur Shekhawati experienced extreme cold this morning, dropping the mercury level to -2.6 degrees celsius.

Needless to say, the residents of Fatehpur were more than surprised when they woke up to a bed of snow outside their homes.

What could be the reason for this weird phenomenon? Is ‘global warming’ taking its toll?

The northern part of India is facing quite a bit of trouble and even the regional meteorological department has issued a red alert in the higher altitude regions of Uttarakhand.

Stay safe, stay warm.
