Mulayam Singh Yadav, the father of Akhilesh, was also honored by Rajnikanth...

Digital Desk: The renowned actor Rajnikanth met with Samajwadi Party chairman Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday at his residence in Lucknow before traveling to Ayodhya, only one day after he visited with Uttar Pradesh chairman Yogi Adityanath and even touched his feet.

Taking to Twitter, Akhilesh Yadav also posted a photo of him hugging the South Indian superstar. Both of them had a conversation. He then posted another picture of them both laughing together while sitting at his house.

Yadav tweeted in Hindi, "When hearts meet, people embrace. During my engineering studies in Mysore, the happiness I used to feel seeing Rajinikanth ji on the screen is still intact. We met in person nine years ago and have been friends ever since."

Mulayam Singh Yadav, the father of Akhilesh, was also honored by Rajnikanth. He greeted Mulayam by folding his hands in front of a picture of him.

The actor is now visiting several places around the nation as part of a spiritual tour. He left for the Himalayas the day before August 10's theatrical debut of his film "Jailer." In Uttarakhand, he paid visits to a number of temples and shrines, including the Badrinath Dham.

Following his meeting with the leader, Ranjnikanth remarked, "I met Akhilesh nine years ago at a function in Mumbai, and we have been friends ever since. We continue talking on the phone. I had come here for a shoot five years before, but I was unable to meet him. Now I am here again, so I made sure I met him this time."
