Digital Desk: Popular comedian-actor Raju Srivastava, who was hospitalized on August 10 after suffering a heart attack, is still on life support but his condition is improving, as per the latest reports.

Srivastava was admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on August 10 after suffering a heart attack. On the same day, the 58-year-old stand-up comedian underwent an angioplasty.

"Raju's condition is gradually improving. He is responsive to the therapy. His health has improved now and he can now move his body parts a bit," the artist's manager Nayan Soni said.

"He's still on a ventilator and in the ICU. Doctors informed that it would take around a week for him to regain consciousness," Soni added.

Last week, Srivastava's family posted a statement on his official Instagram profile stating that his status was "stable" and asking people to "ignore any rumor/fake news being spread."

Srivastava, a well-known figure in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, rose to fame in 2005 after taking part in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge."

Srivastava has featured in Hindi films such as "Maine Pyar Kiya," "Baazigar," and the remake of "Bombay to Goa." He is also the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.
