The new arrests follow numerous others arrested by police in connection with the November murder of Ranjit Bora in Guwahati's Panjabari area.

According to sources, the two suspects were apprehended in Sipajhar, Assam's Darrang district, by a Guwahati Police unit.
They are suspected to be the people who arrived in the two-wheeler and drove up in front of Bora's car, shooting at him and stealing his briefcase full of cash.
