New Delhi: Fans impatiently waiting to watch Ranveer Singh starrer ’83, has something more to rejoice. The movie chronicling the journey of Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev and his team’s apparent win in the year 1983, holding their first-ever World Cup trophy, has been declared tax-free by the Delhi government.

Presented by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, ’83 will hit the screens on December 24 in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil language.

Excited over the film being declared tax-free in Delhi, filmmaker Kabir Khan took to Instagram and thanked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for the gesture.

Announcing the same, CEO, Reliance Entertainment, Shibasish Sarkar, took to Twitter and thanked the Delhi government for the decision.

Actor Ranveer Singh is essaying the role of Kapil Dev, under whose captaincy, the Indian Cricket team won their first-ever World Cup Trophy in the year 1983. Deepika Padukone, who is also the co-producer of the movie is seen playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife, Romi Dev.

Meanwhile, the movie is already garnering appreciation for the look essayed by Ranveer Singh and his 'near-perfect' personification of Kapil Dev.
