Digital Desk: IAS officer Ravi Kota assumed leadership as the new Chief Secretary to the Assam government on Sunday.

Ravi Kota assumed his position after Pawan Borthakur, the departing Chief Secretary completed his extended term on March 3.

Following his assumption of office, Ravi Kota, the previous Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, was relieved of his additional job as the Finance Department's Additional Chief Secretary. He was also charged with overseeing the departments of industries, commerce & public enterprises.

Kota will still be in charge of the Department of Industries, Commerce, and Public Enterprises, though.

In a ceremony held in Guwahati today, he officially assumed charge of his new position
