Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, visited the wrestlers at the Jantar Mantar earlier on Saturday.

Digital Desk: Digital Desk: The head of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, made it clear on Saturday that he won't step down at this time because doing so would entail accepting the accusations made against him. In response to the claims of sexual harassment made by the female wrestlers, Delhi Police filed two FIRs against the WFI president on Friday evening.

Brij Bhushan told reporters, "Resignation is not a big deal but I am not a criminal. Resigning would indicate that I agreed with the claims made by the wrestlers. My contract is about to expire (next month). My term will finish after the 45-day elections for the three-member committee that the government has established.

He continued, "They (wrestlers) are coming up with new demands every day. they demanded FIR, FIRs were registered and now they are saying that I should be sent to jail and resign from all posts-old. My constituency's residents, not Vinesh Phogat, are the reason I am a member of parliament. Ninety percent of the Haryana wrestlers are supporting me, and only one family and Akhara are protesting.

They used to praise me, invite me to their marriages, pose for pictures with me, and ask for my blessings before their protest. They did not complain (of sexual harassment) to any police station, sports ministry, or federation for twelve years," Brij Bhushan said.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, visited the wrestlers at the Jantar Mantar earlier on Saturday.

Brij Bhushan responded by adding, "I have been saying from the beginning that some industrialists and the Congress are behind this protest."
