Digital Desk: Tragic events occurred in Dergaon's Bogiarani the village during the Rongali Bihu celebrations when a rhino assaulted a crowd, killing one person and wounding another.
A rampaging rhino charged toward people in the early hours of Gorubihu, sparking widespread fear in nearby communities, including Bogariani and Hansowa.
Tensions in the area have greatly grown as a result of the occurrence.
Tragically, Nasruddin of Hansra was severely injured in the attack and died tragically from his wounds in spite of efforts to save him. After the incident, the rhino ran from the area in a state of terror.
Subsequently, confrontations broke out with one individual being fired by the forest department as a consequence. The already heated scenario worsened when shots were fired in an effort to subdue the exposed rhinos.
Latu Das, the injured person, has been referred promptly to the Khakundaguri health center for treatment. However, the occurrence has left the community in a state of intense anguish and grief, underscoring the urgent need for practical solutions to human-wildlife conflicts in the area.
