Three men molest girl in broad daylight, two apprehended, one on the run
Digital Desk: In a shocking incident that took place in Lalganesh, Guwahati, a young woman was allegedly molested by three young men in a Tata Punch car on the morning of Goru Bihu. The incident occurred on Saturday at 10.30 am, and the young woman was walking on the road when the accused accosted her.
Two of the accused, Alok Ghosh and Bipul Singh, have been detained by the Fatasil police, while the third accused, Pradeep Dey, is absconding. The police have also seized the Punch car used by the accused in the crime.
The young woman, who hails from Silchar, works and lives as a tenant in Ambari, Guwahati. She was allegedly threatened at gunpoint by the accused not to lodge a case at the police station.
The incident has raised serious questions about the safety of women in Guwahati, particularly in broad daylight. It is also alleged that the police did not pay heed to the young woman's complaint, which further compounded her distress.
