Digital Desk: In a tragic incident, a female rhino's carcass was found inside the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon, Assam on Tuesday morning.
According to a preliminary inquiry by the forest department, the rhino is suspected to have died due to drowning.
The rhino's body was discovered inside the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary near the Haduk Hanging Bridge.
Meanwhile, officials from the forest department arrived at the scene and recovered the carcass.
Notably, 70% of the wildlife sanctuary was underwater due to the Brahmaputra River's rising water level.
