"Rishabh Pant has been transferred to a separate room due to the risk of infection," said the DDCA director to India Today.

Digital Desk: Rishabh Pant, India's wicketkeeper-batsman, has been sent to a private room in a Dehradun hospital to avoid infection.

Shyam Sharma, Director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), informed India Today that the 25-year-old cricketer is "recovering well" after a near-fatal automobile accident on December 30.

"Rishabh Pant has been transferred to a separate room due to the risk of infection," said the DDCA director to India Today. "Doctors moved Pant in a private ward yesterday evening so that there is no danger of infection.

Shyam Sharma went on to say that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will decide whether to treat Pant's ligament. Pant received two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, as well as injuries to his right wrist, ankle, toe, and back, according to the BCCI.

"He is currently recuperating well. He will be at Dehradun hospital till his rehabilitation is complete, and then BCCI will decide whether he needs to be transferred overseas for ligament repair, as well as whether he needs plastic surgery."

Earlier, the Director General of Uttarakhand Police, Ashok Kumar, told India Today that Pant's car was involved in an accident on his route to Roorkee about 5:30 a.m. The incident occurred near Roorkee in Mohammedpur Jat.

Pant stated that he fell asleep behind the wheel, leading the car to hit with the divider and catch fire. He was brought to a hospital in Roorkee before being moved to a hospital in Dehradun. Pant's Mercedes caught fire as a result of the incident. The India wicketkeeper-batsman, who was driving alone, had to break the car's windscreen to get out.
