Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed the "Sengol" in the Lok Sabha chamber and unveiled a plaque to dedicate the new Parliament building to the country.
The RJD tweeted a picture of a coffin along with the Hindi question, "Yeh kya hai" (What is this?). BJP has responded angrily to the comments.
In an interview with ANI, RJD leader Shakti Yadav stated, "PM Modi has buried democracy. The coffin has been posted as Modi has ensured the death of democracy."
The party has previously declared that it would boycott the inauguration ceremony.
"This is regrettable. When comparing it to a coffin today, were they also comparing the previous Parliament to "zero"? We had previously been seated in zero?" Dushyant Gautam, a BJP leader, asked.
Manoj Jha, a Rajya Sabha member for the RJD, asserted that the opening of the Parliament Building as a whole has to be redirected.
Today PM Modi honoured some of the labourers who contributed to the building's construction. He gave them mementos as gifts.
After performing puja, Prime Minister Modi placed the revered "Sengol" next to the Speaker's seat in the new Lok Sabha chamber.
During the ritual, PM Modi also kneeled in homage before the "Sengol."
The newly built Parliamentary building is furnished with cutting-edge amenities that will aid the Members in carrying out their duties more effectively. This will serve to further enhance India's illustrious democratic traditions and constitutional ideals.
The Lok Sabha can accommodate 888 members in the new Parliament building. There is a space set out in the current Parliamentary building for 543 Lok Sabha members and 250 Rajya Sabha members.
To accommodate future needs, plans have been created for a meeting of the 888 Lok Sabha members and the 384 Rajya Saba members in the Parliament's newly built structure. The Lok Sabha Chamber will host the combined meeting of both Houses.
