Digital desk: At the fifth and final Test match between India and England at Dharamsala, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma displayed his extraordinary form. In addition to reaching his 12th test century against the Three Lions, he also stopped England's bowling attack, allowing India to maintain their lead of 3-1 going into the next five matches of the series.

To achieve the three-figure mark, Rohit sent Tom Hartley into deep mid wicket for a single. The 36-year-old has accomplished a rare accomplishment by matching 48 international centuries with Rahul Dravid. 

With his 12th test century, Rohit surpassed Dravid, who has 36 test centuries and 12 ODI hundreds in his long career, for the 48th century in all international formats—12 in tests, 31 in ODIs, and 5 in T20Is. India's joint third-century scorer is now Rohit Sharma.

In addition, Rohit tied the record held by the great Sunil Gavaskar for the most hundreds in an Indian opening match versus England. Gavaskar scored four hundreds while playing 38 tests against England. In the test match against England, Rohit scored his fourth century in Dharmasala.

Rohit who scored 103 off 162 balls before being bowled by Ben Stokes, smashed 13 fours and 3 sixes in his knock.
