Digital Desk: An RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) leader was arrested after his wife lodged a formal complaint at the Merapani police station in the Golaghat district of Assam.

According to the allegation, the RSS leader threatened his wife's life by using a pistol.

The RSS leader identified as Dibyajyoti Saikia alias Latu, was apprehended along with a gun that was in his possession.

The arrest comes after the leader's wife reported to the police with a written complaint about the threats made against her. According to her statement, she said that she and the RSS leader had a violent dispute at their home during which he brandished a gun and threatened to shoot her.

According to reports, the police seized a 7.56mm barrel gun and three live bullets from his possession.

An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the truth, police stated.
