During the meeting, Jaishankar appreciated Afghan counterpart’s condemnation of the 22nd April Pahalgam terror attack, which ended up taking 26 innocent lives in the Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Digital Desk: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held talks with Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi on Thursday.

During the meeting, Jaishankar appreciated Afghan counterpart’s condemnation of the 22nd April Pahalgam terror attack, which ended up taking 26 innocent lives in the Baisaran Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Further in his tweet, Jaishankar welcomed Muttaqi's firm rejection of recent attempts to create doubt between Afghanistan and India through distorted and groundless reports, including recent allegations by Pakistan claiming India launched missile strikes on Afghan territory. 

In a post on X, S Jaishankar said he had a very good conversation with Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

He appreciated Muttaqi's condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack and welcomed his firm rejection of recent attempts to create distrust between the two countries through false and baseless reports, S Jaishankar added. 

He further said that the two leaders had also discussed the continued support for Afghanistan's developmental needs and ways and means of strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
