Sachin Pilot arrived at Shaheed Smarak and garlanded pictures of Mahatma Gandhi and Jyotirao Phule...

Digital Desk: Defying the Congress diktat, which stated his protest was "against the party's interests and constitutes anti-party activity," former Rajasthan deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot went on a day-long dharna in Jaipur on Tuesday, seeking action in corruption cases during Vasundhara Raje's tenure as chief minister.

At around 11 a.m., Pilot arrived at Shaheed Smarak and garlanded pictures of Mahatma Gandhi and Jyotirao Phule on the dais before sitting on the stage as patriotic songs such as Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge, Ae Watan Tere Liye, Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, and Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram were being played in the background.

The dharna is being held to mark the birth anniversary of social reformer Jyotirao Phule. "Corruption is a subject that concerns the public, and it is a huge issue towards reforming society, which is why I decided to sit on a protest on his Jayanti," Pilot had earlier stated.

Pilot has launched an attack on Ashok Gehlot, accusing the chief minister of lounging on corruption cases during the previous Vasundhara Raje government.

Pilot will remain silent throughout his all-day demonstration, which will go until around 4 pm in the evening.

At the protest place, his fans sang, "Humara CM Kaisa Ho, Sachin Pilot Jaisa Ho," and "I love you, I love you, Sachin Pilot, I love you," while also demanding action in corruption cases.

At the protest place, he stated that the CM has been involved in corruption since she joined the office.

Pilot was joined on stage by Congress politician and the President and Founder of Sarv Brahmin Mahasabha, Pandit Suresh Mishra, and former Jaipur mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, in addition to hundreds of Congress workers.
