Digital Desk: Domestic equities indices' bad luck has continued, as they have fallen in five of the last six sessions.

According to Deepak Jasani, Head of Retail Research at HDFC Securities, Indian markets opened substantially lower on Friday, following poor indications from other Asian and US markets.

"US markets plunged late Thursday to settle substantially down, with the Nasdaq falling 2.8 percent, as apprehensive investors looked ahead to a report on May inflation expected Friday morning," Jasani said.

The Sensex was down 719.57 points or 1.3 percent at 9.39 a.m., while the Nifty was down 204.50 points or 1.2 percent at 16,273.60 points.

As per NSE data, during the morning session, Wipro, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco, and Tata Steel were the top five losers among the Nifty50 equities.
