Police authorities urged people to remain calm, claiming that everything was under control and that there was no reason to panic.

Digital Desk: A bomb at a restaurant on Heritage Street, near the Golden Temple in Punjab's holy city of Amritsar, left several people injured. However, the authorities said that it was an accident rather than a terrorist attack.

The explosion on Saturday night near Darbar Sahib on popular Heritage Street caused panic. The majority of devotees and locals in the area assumed the explosion was a terrorist attack.

Police authorities urged people to remain calm, claiming that everything was under control and that there was no reason to panic.

A police officer revealed to the media that the explosion reportedly took place in a restaurant's chimney.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mehtab Singh said the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

She stated that forensic teams were looking into it. There was no structural damage to the nearby buildings; just the windowpanes were shattered.
