Jawan, starring SRK, enters the top five at the US Box Office, making $12.1 million in only 826 theatres...
Digital Desk: In an extraordinary milestone for Indian cinema, Jawan has made it into the top five films at the US Box Office for the September 2023 release.
It is to be mentioned that the film, distributed by Yash Raj Films USA Inc., was released on September 7 and grossed $12,108,639 (100 crore) in the United States. Notably, according to Box Office Mojo, this achievement was accomplished in only 826 venues, significantly fewer than its Hollywood equivalents.
September 2023 was a competitive month at the US Box Office, with Equalizer 3 making the lead with $73,673,848 (613.3 crore) and followed by The Nun II, which earned $56,327,738 (about 469 crore). My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 comes in fourth place with $18,632,245 (155 crores). Barbie and Oppenheimer, which were released on July 21, are still among the top ten films in September.
Jawan released on 7th September has taken the fifth spot among September releases, breaking into this Hollywood-heavy list. Given the film's limited theatrical run, its per-theater earnings are superb. This demonstrates the film's popularity as well as the expanding influence of Indian films on overseas audiences.
Day 12 Box Office Collection for Jawan: According to Sacnilk's preliminary estimations, Jawan earned 16 crore on Day 12, bringing the domestic Box Office collection to 493.63 crore. The film has sold 1.15 lakh tickets for Day 13 and is expected to gross 2.22 crore in India on its second Tuesday.
Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan, directed by Atlee, appears certain to outperform Sunny Deol's August release, Gadar 2. According to Sacnilk, the sequel has made 520.60 crore in 39 days.
