The verbal spat started with Afridi blaming India by saying that India knows how to blame Pakistan and calling the Indian Army 'ineffective' and 'useless' following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 27 civilians on April 22.

Digital Desk: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi responded to former India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who gave a befitting reply after Afridi made some senseless allegations against the Indian Army.

The verbal spat started with Afridi blaming India by saying that India knows how to blame Pakistan and calling the Indian Army 'ineffective' and 'useless' following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 27 civilians on April 22.

Speaking to a Pakistani TV channel, which is now banned in India, Afridi asked for proof of Pakistan's involvement in the deadly attack carried out by the Resistance Force, an offshoot of Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

He also took a jibe at the Indian media coverage of the attack and two senior Indian cricketers for blaming his country for the attack.

Following Afridi's comment, Shikhar Dhawan did not hold back and reminded Afridi about Pakistan's 1999 Kargil war defeat. In a strongly-worded post on X, Dhawan asked Afridi to focus on his own nation instead of commenting on India.

Replying to Dhawan's X post, now Afridi shared a picture of himself holding a cup of tea and said, "Chouro jeet haar ko, aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar. #FantasticTea." (Forget about win and loss, I will invite you for tea Shikhar. #FantasticTea)

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria also slammed Afridi for his 'extremist views'. Kaneria alleged that Shahid Afridi tried to persuade him to convert to Islam and declined to share a meal with him.
