Anupam Mittal moved to Twitter to express his dismay, announcing that he is cancelling his intentions to purchase a Tesla.

Digital Desk: Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com and a Shark Tank India judge, is one of the well-known people who have just lost their blue tick on Twitter after Elon Musk revealed that users will have to pay for a Twitter Blue subscription.

Nearly a month after declaring that users of the microblogging site would have to purchase a Twitter Blue subscription, the firm removed the historic verified blue checkmarks from accounts that included celebrities, businesses, and athletes, among others.

Many celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, were disappointed when they learned the blue tick next to their name was vanished. Among them is Anupam Mittal, who discovered that his account was no longer "verified." While the blue tick was reinstated for select Twitter accounts, including those of late celebrities, the Shaadi.com founder's account was not one of them.

Anupam Mittal moved to Twitter to express his dismay, announcing that he is cancelling his intentions to purchase a Tesla. Notably, Elon Musk is also the founder of a company that provides electric vehicles, solar panels, and integrated renewable energy solutions.

Celebs lose Blue Tick

Many high-profile celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Alia Bhatt, as well as politicians such as CM Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, and cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, lost their verified blue ticks following Twitter's decision.

Elon Musk then restored the badge for users with over a million followers and even stated that he was personally paying for some celebrities' Twitter Blue subscriptions in order for them to keep their checkmarks. Basketball player LeBron James, Star Trek actor William Shatner, and author Stephen King were among those honoured. According to the company's new policy, consumers must pay $8 per month for the badge.

Some celebrities, though, have paid for the subscription. Amitabh Bachchan, the actor, said that despite paying the costs, his blue tick vanished. In a tweet, he asked 'Twitter bhaiya' to restore his blue tick so that people know his account is legitimate. The great actor also stated that he makes the request with his palms folded. His Blue Tick was eventually restored.
