According to authorities, the victim is from Dhemaji, and her family has been shattered by this heinous crime.

Digital Desk: In yet another terrible incident, a young woman was gang-raped by a group of nine men in the Tapabari char area of Assam's Hajo on Thursday.

Altaf, a cab driver, and his eight colleagues are suspected of raping the victim. The victim was offered a job at the company but instead was subjected to a terrible assault.

In connection with the crime, the Hajo police have arrested five individuals: Abdul Hamid, Imran Hussain, Abdul Jalil, Afazuddin, and Saidul Rahman. However, the primary accused, Altaf, is still absconding.

According to authorities, the victim is from Dhemaji, and her family has been shattered by this heinous crime.

When the police received the allegation, they immediately initiated a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators. The arrested suspect has been placed in police custody for further investigation. The police have told the victim and her family that the culprits will face harsh punishment.

The incident has elicited considerable indignation and criticism, with cries for justice for the victim. The local government has also voiced concern and promised to take strict measures against the offenders.

Earlier this month, the Chirang Police detained three people in connection with an alleged gang rape at Bengtol.

This followed the suspension of the Bengtol Police Outpost OC yesterday night for reportedly siding with the defendants in the case.

Gulzar Hussain, Pabitra Rai, and Ganesh Rai were detained in connection with an alleged sexual assault and abuse of a woman. According to sources, the victim has implicated a total of seven persons.

Three of the accused were apprehended today, but four others are still at large, according to authorities.
