The commando sustained injuries while at his post cleaning guns.....


Digital desk: A Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) commando was injured in an "accidental firing" while cleaning his weapon at his post in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya Tuesday evening, police said.

50 year old, Platoon commander Ram Prasad was rushed to the Ayodhya Medical College, from where he was referred to King George's Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow as his condition was reported to be serious.

For security purpose Commando Ram Prasad has been posted at the Ram Janmabhoomi compound in the city for around six months.

According to senior police officer Pravin Kumar, the commando sustained injuries while at his post cleaning guns. The medical college at Ayodhya's emergency coordinator, Dr. Vinod Kumar Arya, reported that Ram Prasad was struck by the gunshot on the left side of his chest.

The doctor indicated that the commando had to be referred to KGMU in Lucknow because his condition was deemed to be serious. Ram Prasad lives in the Uttar Pradeshi village of Achalpur in the Amethi district.
