Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a head teacher from a government school in Assam’s Karimganj district has been booked for allegedly forcing a female student to watch obscene videos in the classroom.

The incident, which took place on August 12, has led to the filing of a case against the teacher under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, stated Karimganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Partha Pratim Das.

The girl's family members reported that she initially hesitated to share the incident but eventually confided to her mother, revealing that the teacher had shown her obscene video and touched her inappropriately.

The situation escalated as locals, outraged by the incident, attempted to attack the teacher, who managed to flee. In their anger, the locals vandalized the school and set it on fire. The SP confirmed that a case would also be registered against those responsible for damaging government property.

A local resident, expressing deep concern, stated, “We send our kids to school to receive an education and become better human beings, but what can they learn from a teacher like this?”
