According to police reports, the wife conspired with her lover to execute the murder after being caught in the act by her husband.

Digital Desk: In Guwahati, a tragic case of murder linked to infidelity has unfolded, where a wife stands accused of killing her husband after he discovered her with another man. The incident came to light on Tuesday from the Kahilipara locality, leading to the arrest of the accused wife by the police.

The victim, Ditumoni Haloi, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan primarily stationed in Manipur, hailed from Tihu town in Assam. He resided with his wife, Hiramoni Haloi, and their two children in a rented accommodation in Adarshapur, Kahilipara, Guwahati.

According to police reports, the wife conspired with her lover to execute the murder after being caught in the act by her husband. Allegedly, they locked the room, overpowered Ditumoni, and strangled him to death, as recounted by their children's statements to the police.

Ditumoni, a member of the 175 Battalion deployed in Manipur, often spent time away on duty. During his absences, his wife engaged in extramarital relationships, including a recent affair with a man whose identity remains undisclosed.

On Monday, Ditumoni returned home on leave and discovered his wife with her lover, which tragically escalated into a fatal confrontation.

The couple's two sons provided detailed statements to the police, describing how their mother and her accomplice carried out the crime. They mentioned that the duo used a bath towel to strangle Ditumoni, and subsequently transported his body to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) when he showed no signs of life.

Hiramoni has been arrested by the city police for her role in conspiring and executing the murder of her husband. Authorities are actively searching for her lover, believed to have been an accomplice in the crime.
