Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old man identified as Mohammad Adil Azamali Sheikh allegedly killed a 53-year-old watchman, Prasad Bhanusingh Khadka, in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, during the early hours of Friday. The motive behind the brutal act was, reportedly, a trivial dispute over a matchstick.

According to officials, Sheikh, a resident of Turbhe Naka, requested a matchstick from Khadka near a rickshaw stand on Belapur Road. When the watchman declined, Sheikh became agitated. In a fit of rage, he picked up a large stone and hit Khadka's head around 1:45 a.m. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Sheikh was swiftly apprehended, and he now faces charges under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 302 (murder). The deceased's body has been sent for post-mortem examination at a government hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident further.
