Memphis police advised people to stay indoors until the situation was settled they could.

Digital Desk: A 19-year-old boy went on a shooting spree in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday (IST), killing at least two people. He was detained by police, reports said.

Reports claimed that the suspect, Ezekiel Kelly, drove about Memphis firing at random individuals while live streaming the incident on Facebook. According to Memphis Police, he was in charge of "several shootings."



The alleged shooter can be seen walking inside a store and starting to shoot people on Facebook Live.



According to BNO News, before departing the scene, the alleged shooter crashed his car and stole a grey Toyota SUV, according to BNO News. The Toyota SUV's driver sustained injuries in the collision.

While advising Memphis residents to stay indoors "until this is handled," police issued a photo of the suspect.


Students at the University of Memphis received a notification stating that a shooting had been reported nearby. Rhodes College, located approximately 4 miles from the university, warned both on-and off-campus students to take cover.

According to KAIT news, the suspect escaped into Arkansas by crossing the state line with Tennessee.
