Silchar: 63-year-old music teacher attempts to rape his 9-year-old student

Silchar: In another heinous incident, a 63-year-old music teacher attempted to rape a minor in Rangpur, Silchar.

The accused, identified as Shyamsundar Dev, tried to rape a 9-year-old minor when she went to the accused house for her music lesson.

Parents of the minor asserted, the minor went to the house of music teacher ShyamSundar Dev to attend her music classes, but on Monday, the minor hesitated to go. Being asked why her parents discovered that in the last class, the accused tried to rape her.

Following this victim’s mother filed an FIR at Rangpur Police Petrol Post against the accused.

The accused Shyamsunder Dev is under police custody.

Police official said, “Following an FIR from the victim mother, we have arrested the accused Shyamsunder Dev.”

“We are investigating the case; if the accused is found guilty, he will be punished under law.” added the police.
