Digital Desk: Manika Batra's Indian campaign at the Singapore Smash table tennis Championship came to an end on Tuesday after she lost both her women's doubles and mixed doubles matches with her respective partners.

Manika and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran were eliminated in the mixed doubles quarterfinals by Japan's world championships silver medalists Hina Hayata and Tomokazu Harimoto.

Manika-Sathiyan were defeated by their fourth-seeded opponents in a hard-fought last-eight stage encounter that lasted 52 minutes. In the competition, the Indian partnership was seeded sixth. 

Earlier, Manika and Sathiyan defeated Jian Zeng and Chew Zhe Yu Clarence of Singapore 3-1 (11-7, 12-10, 9-11, 11-3) in their round of 16 mixed doubles match.

Manika and Archana Kamath lost to Meng Chen and Yidi Wang of China in a hard-fought round of 16 matches that lasted 42 minutes in the women's doubles.

Previously, Manika, Sathiyan, and Sharath Kamal had all lost their first-round singles bouts. Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar were also eliminated in the first round of the men's doubles event.
