  • Crude oil began oozing out from the ground in the Jonaki Nagar of Joysagar

Digital Desk: A natural gas explosion in Bhatiapar, Sivasagar, on June 12, 2025, caused widespread panic among residents.

Just a month later, another alarming incident occurred in Joysagar's Jonaki Nagar area on July 12, 2025.

Crude oil began oozing out from the ground in the Jonaki Nagar, which is part of the Rudrasagar oil field in Sivasagar.

The leakage was first discovered at the residence of Krishna Das, sparking widespread concerns among the locals.

Despite the severity of the situation, no ONGC officials have arrived at the site even four hours after the incident.

A huge tunnel-like hole has formed inside Krishna Das' kitchen, from which crude oil is gushing out.

All the family members of Krishna Das felt a mild tremor before the leakage of crude oil.

The crude oil has already contaminated nearby areas, including several fisheries.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, firefighting units arrived at the scene to provide assistance.
