Rahul Gandhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for the violence in Manipur and claimed that the government had "divided" the northeastern state into two parts.

Digital Desk: On Wednesday, Union Minister Smriti Irani made allegations against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of blowing a flying kiss as he left the parliament following his remarks on the No-Confidence Motion.

"Never before has a man's 'misogynistic behaviour' been so apparent in parliament. Should a man be called out for his misogyny when it is witnessed during a session of the House of the People, where laws are made to protect the dignity of women? Following the union minister's accusations, BJP women members of parliament have complained to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against MP Gandhi," she told reporters.

“I would like to draw you attention towards the incident in the House by Mr. Rahul Gandhi, MO from Wayanad, Kerala. The said member has behaved in an indecent manner and making inappropriate gesture towards Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Minister and Member of this House while she was addressing the House. We demand stringent action against such behavior by the Member, which has not only insulted the dignity of women members in the House, it has also brought disrepute and lowered the dignity of this august House,” the letter reads.

It is to be noted that Rahul Gandhi slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for the violence in Manipur and claimed that the government had "divided" the northeastern state into two parts.

Rahul Gandhi claimed that while he went to the conflict-torn state, the Prime Minister did not, during a debate on a no-confidence vote against the PM Modi-led government over the violence in Manipur.
