Digital Desk: There is some good news for fans of Sourav Ganguly. The script for Ganguly's biopic is nearly finished, and there is a chance that Ranbir Kapoor will play him in the film, however, it is too early to tell because the project is still in its early stages.

Ganguly, who was departing for Mumbai on Monday evening, disclosed that he and the film's producers, Luv Production House, are accelerating production.

News18 was the first to report on Ganguly's biopic a year and a half ago. Then Sourav said that his biopic will be made, and the transaction was finalized. "The task of creating the script for the biography is virtually done," the former India skipper added this time.

"I'm off to Mumbai. "There are negotiations about the script for the biopic," he revealed before spilling the big scoop. "In fact, I'm writing the script for my biopic myself. Luv Production House will discuss the screenplay."

Sourav was noncommittal on who will play him in the film, adding, "There has yet to be a definitive decision on any of this. "I'm hoping to share something nice with you after the meeting."

According to insiders, the production company is considering bringing in Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir is also Sourav's choice.

However, nothing has been finalized, and alternative names are being considered, they claimed.

"All of this has not been finalized yet," Ganguly added of the film's release date. The script is almost finished. The next project will begin now."

Sourav is expected to return to Kolkata on Wednesday night to perform Saraswati Puja at his wife Dona Ganguly's dance studio.
