Digital Desk: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) extended its gratitude and support to Percy Abeysekera, the legendary cricket cheerleader, by presenting him with a generous donation of Rs 50 lakhs on Monday. The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, under the leadership of President Shammi Silva, made the heartwarming decision to aid Abeysekera's well-being and health.

Abeysekera, who has been an enduring presence on the Sri Lankan cricket scene, has played an immeasurable role as a cheerleader, providing unwavering support to players and the game as a whole. This act of benevolence reflects SLC's recognition of his tireless dedication.

Mohan de Silva, the Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket, expressed the sentiment behind the donation, stating, "Percy's contribution to the game of cricket in Sri Lanka as a cheerleader is immeasurable, and he has been a tower of strength for the players and to the game as a whole, and it was our turn to give back and look into his wellbeing."

The touching gesture was delivered personally by Mohan de Silva when he visited Percy Abeysekera's residence on behalf of the Sri Lankan board to inquire about his health and overall well-being. The act of kindness reflects the deep respect and admiration Sri Lanka Cricket holds for the legendary cheerleader, who has added color and energy to Sri Lankan cricket for decades.
