Digital Desk: The Assam Government's General Administration Department (GAD) has issued a notification announcing that the state public holidays on the 23rd and 24th of January have been cancelled with immediate effect. 

The holidays have been cancelled owing to the Republic Day celebrations on January 26th. 
The birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is honoured on January 23rd, whereas the Bodo population of Assam observes Bathou Puja on January 24th. 

The letter also specifies that any government employee who desires to take leave on the specified days must apply to their particular department in advance.
