Digital Desk: Zubeen Garg's friend Khagen Gogoi, expressed his disbelief over the loss of Assam's cherished icon, stating he still cannot come to terms with the fact that Zubeen is no longer in this world.

Reflecting on their time together, Gogoi shared fond memories of collaborating with Zubeen Garg and singing numerous songs alongside him.

He went on to assert that if justice is not served for Garg, it would lead to a situation akin to a Mahabharata.

Gogoi also made allegations against Shyamkanu Mahanta, the organiser of North-East Festival, claiming that back in 2011, Mahanta had invited him to perform at the Rongali Festival but failed to pay him for his performance.

Instead, Mahanta reportedly justified it by saying he had given Gogoi an opportunity to perform at the event.

Gogoi criticised Mahanta's handling of financial matters, mentioning that Zubeen Garg was also aware of these issues.

He further revealed that Shyamkanu Mahanta had approached him again in 2024 to sing at the Rongali Festival, but this time, Gogoi declined the invitation.

Gogoi emphasized that the people of Assam are still awaiting justice for Zubeen Garg, reiterating his belief that the singer's passing was not a natural death.
