Digital Desk: On Wednesday, several miscreants broke one of the windows of the moving Vande Bharat Express in one of Kerala's latest cases of stone-pelting on trains.

The Vande Bharat Express from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram received the same treatment three days after two trains were attacked with stones in the northern Kannur district, breaking one of its windows and raising questions about the safety of rail travel.

Between 4 and 4.30 PM, according to railway officials, the incident took place close to Vatakara.

According to authorities, the incident damaged the window of the train's C-8 coach.

"The incident left nobody hurt. The glass had been broken by external forces," they said.

The windowpane was severely shattered and patched up from the outside according to images of the incident broadcast on TV stations.

When the trains arrived at a location between Kannur South and Valapattanam in the district on Sunday evening, the Mangaluru-Chennai Superfast Express and Netravati Express were attacked with rocks.

According to officials, the AC coaches' windowpanes on both trains were found to be damaged.

Additionally, after the Vande Bharat Express was introduced in Kerala by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April of this year, a few cases of stone-throwing against the train were previously recorded from the state.
