Digital Desk: The Sunrisers Hyderabad allrounder, Washington Sundar, has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL season due to a hamstring injury, the franchise announced on Thursday. This is Washington's third consecutive season hindered by injuries, which is a big setback for the outstanding player.

Washington played in seven matches for the Sunrisers this season, hitting 60 runs in five innings and taking three wickets. However, his team is now in the ninth spot on the rankings, which is not an impressive position.

Washington was ruled out of the UAE leg of the tournament in 2021 due to a finger injury, after taking three wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first half of the season.

Unfortunately, his luck did not change as he was forced to miss the ODI parts of India's tour of South Africa in January 2022 after testing positive for Covid-19. Moreover, a hamstring injury held him out of the three-match T20I series against the West Indies at home.

Washington, who had been signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad, missed four games of the IPL 2022 because of a split webbing in his bowling hand. Last August, Washington suffered a left shoulder injury while fielding for Lancashire during a county stint, and he was subsequently ruled out of the three-match One-Day International series against Zimbabwe.
