Digital Desk: Deb Kamal Baruah, the Superintendent of Guwahati Central Jail, has been remanded back into police custody.
Baruah's initial three-day police custody concluded on Sunday.
However, Basistha Police presented him in court and secured an extension for another three days.
He was arrested on charges of involvement in several illegal activities, including drugs-related offenses and possession of ganja.
The Basistha Police has reportedly uncovered substantial incriminating evidence against Deb Kamal Baruah.
So far, three individuals have been arrested in connection with the alleged illegal activities occurring within Guwahati Central Jail.
