Kabul: The Official website of the Taliban, who swept to power in Afghanistan last week, appeared to have vanished from the internet late on Friday. It is not clear as of now that whether it’s a technical fault or something else was to blame.

The Taliban operate five separate websites in Pashto, Dari, Arabic, Urdu, and English, and all the five websites appeared to be unreachable on Friday.

Cloudflare, which records online lists of such websites, was unreachable and unresponsive when approached by various media handles for their report on the issue. No comments were thus furnished by the spokeswoman of CloudFlare, which has been providing protection to the Taliban sites.

The outage was first reported by The Washington Post.
