Digital Desk: An explosion at a firework godown in Tamil Nadu on Monday killed at least seven people and injured many more, as reported by officials.

Following the explosion in Vetriyur Viragalur in Tamil Nadu's Ariyalur district, a major fire broke out at around 10:20 p.m., according to officials.

J Anne Mary Swarna, district collector of Ariyalur, and district superintendent of police (SP) K Feroze Khan Adullah arrived at the location after receiving information about the occurrence.

Meanwhile, those injured in the incident were brought to a local government hospital and are being treated there, according to police officials.

An investigation has been initiated into the matter, and more information is awaited.
