Digital Desk: A  shocking incident has come to light from Bengaluru, where a senior associate at Infosys has been arrested for allegedly recording a woman inside the company’s washroom. the accused has been identified as Nagesh Swapnil Mali,  and was caught red-handed on Monday by the female employee, who  immediately raised an alarm

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman noticed unusual movement in the adjacent toilet cubicle and discovered Mali secretly filming her. She confronted him immediately on the spot  , and with the help of other employees, he was caught. His mobile phone, which contained the recorded footage, was later reviewed and deleted by the Human Resources (HR) team in the woman’s presence.

According to police sources,  this may not be an isolated incident. The mobile phone belonging to Mali has been taken to the forensics laboratory to retrieve deleted files as well as verify whether other women were secretly recorded.

This disturbing case bears a resemblance to another incident that occurred in Ayodhya in April. There. There, a 25-year-old employee of a guest house opposite Ram Temple was arrested on the charges of having filmed a female devotee while she was bathing. A shadow in the room alerted the woman who hailed from Varanasi, and she spotted the man using the hole in the tin roof to record her. The suspect, Saurabh Tiwari, was found to have multiple such videos on his phone.

The two incidents pose significant issues of privacy and increasing abuse of technology, particularly in areas that are assumed to be under control. Investigations in both incidents are ongoing.
