The pilgrimage had been suspended first due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Digital Desk: The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has officially resumed today, on 30th June, after a gap of 6 years. The Lord Shiva devotees have been waiting so long, and their wait has been rewarded.
The pilgrimage had been suspended initially owing to the coronavirus pandemic, and later because of the India-China conflict in the Galwan Valley. However, due to the improving diplomatic ties this year, the pilgrimage has been permitted which has given relief as well as happiness to thousands of devotees.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a pilgrimage journey up to Kailash and the Mansarovar Lake, which ascends the sacred mountain, and it is located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Mansarovar is believed to have originated from the mind of Lord Brahma and is considered the source of several major rivers, including the Saryu, Sutlej, Indus, and Brahmaputra. Situated at an altitude of approximately 15,100 feet, Mansarovar is a high-altitude freshwater lake, with Mount Kailash being its main source.
