Digital Desk: Assam Police Holds Bike Rally To Celebrate The Winning Of President's Colour Award Assam Police happens to be only the 10th State Police force in the country to have been conferred with the prestigious President’s Colour Award.

Digital Desk: On May 2, top Assam Police officers launched the 'Ride of Pride' bike event to commemorate the prestigious President's Color Award.

The rally set to begin in Dhubri and will cross the full periphery of Assam. The 'Ride of Pride' would span eight days and cover a total distance of 2055 kilometres over 27 districts across the state.

Notably, Assam Police is only the country's tenth state police department to receive the prestigious President's Colour Award. On May 10, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Assam Police with the Presidents' Colour Award at a ceremony in Guwahati. The President's Colour Award is the highest award that any Indian military unit can get.

It is also known as ′Nishaan,′ which is an emblem that will be worn on the left sleeve of all unit officers' uniforms.

"We are beginning off a two-week statewide celebrating programme from tomorrow onwards to commemorate this historic milestone," the Assam DGP stated. Assam's Director General of Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, used his official Twitter account to commemorate the anniversary.
