The Press Information Bureau (PIB) said that the memorandum of understanding would further strengthen relations between India and the USA within international scientific and technological cooperation in fields of mutual interest.

Digital Desk: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of India and the US in the field of health care.

India's department of biotechnology will sign the MoU and the Indian Council of Medical Research and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, USA, to contribute towards the growth and development of new, improved and innovative biomedical tools and technologies to prevent and treat HIV, tuberculosis, COVID-19 and other emerging harmful but neglected diseases.

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) said that the memorandum of understanding would further strengthen relations between India and the USA within international scientific and technological cooperation in fields of mutual interest.

Soon after the cabinet announcement, Mansukh Mandaviya, soon after the cabinet announcement, tweeted, "The government led by PM @NarendraModi Ji approves the signing of an MoU between India and the USA in the field of the health sector." This will further strengthen relations between both countries in fields of mutual interest, he wrote.
