A purported copy of the letter that has gone viral on social media suggests that the judge would "declare the mosque a temple" as he was an "idol worshipper" and criticizes his decision to allow the video inspection.
Digital Desk: As the Gyanvapi row
continues, Civil Judge Ravi Diwakar received a threatening letter
from the Islamic Agaz Movement on Tuesday. The official had passed
the order for a video survey of the mosque premises, which had, in turn, affirmed
claims that there were Hindu motifs and a shivling within the area.
According to the police, a total of
nine police personnel have been deployed for the security of the Additional
Chief Judicial Magistrate and ten police personnel have been deployed for the
security of the District Judge. Officials said that the security of the civil
judge in Varanasi and his mother in Lucknow is also being reviewed.

Satish Ganesh said that after being alerted by the civil judge regarding the
letter, which also has many attachments, the Deputy Commissioner of Police
(Varuna zone) has been assigned to examine the matter.
"The judge had written to the
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of the Government of Uttar
Pradesh and the Varanasi Police Commissionerate on Tuesday, stating that
he had received a hand-written threat letter from an organization
called the Islamic Agaz Movement. Demanding action, Diwakar said that the letter sent via registered post had been written by Kashif Ahmed Siddiqui on
behalf of the group.

inspection of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex is a normal process. You
are an idol worshipper; you will declare the mosque a temple. No Muslim can
expect the right decision from a 'kafir, murtipujak' Hindu judge, it added.
