Digital Desk: The Congress has urged for the film 'The Kerala Story' to be banned after the teaser stirred controversy. The teaser, which was released earlier this month, claimed that over 32,000 Kerala women were converted, with the majority of them being sent to Islamic State-held areas in Syria and Afghanistan.
Amid the controversy, Kerala's DGP urged the Thiruvananthapuram commissioner to file a case against the film's crew for allegedly presenting the state as a safe haven for terrorists.

"I've seen the teaser. It's an obvious case of disinformation. Nothing like that is happening in Kerala. This is done to ruin Kerala's image in the eyes of other states. This is inciting hatred and should be prohibited. In most cases, we oppose film bans, but this type of misinformation will cause communal problems "he stated.
"There is no history with the state police. They must inform the public if there is anything involving central intelligence. These are the records, the list of women, and the addresses of the women who joined IS after being recruited in Kerala "he continued.
Adah Sharma, who narrates her story, appears in the teaser. She aspired to be a nurse but was kidnapped and is currently imprisoned in Afghanistan as an IS terrorist.
