Golaghat: The Golaghat police successfully apprehended three most wanted hackers who were involved in multiple cases of money laundering and siphoning of lakhs of rupees from a number of people in the state.

The accused hackers have been identified as Shahid Ahmed Laskar, Nurul Ahmed Barbhuyia and Motibul Rahman.

Earlier, the three hackers had fraudulently withdrawn an amount of Rs 13 lakh from the bank account of the principal of Khumtai college.

Later, the principal lodged a complaint following which an operation was launched to nab the culprits. The three were on the run for a long time and finally fell in the police net on Saturday.

The police recovered one luxury car, seven mobile phones, 52 bank passbooks, 57 debit cards, five sim cards, one laptop and several objectionable documents from their possession. The police suspect that more people could be involved in this racket.
