vehicle drove off the road and into a steep valley in Jammu and Kashmir's
Kathua district on Friday, killing three persons and injuring six others,
according to authorities.
Rasal Chand, 68, Janti, 65, and Febu
Begum, 95, were all residents of Malhar at the time of their deaths.
According to a police officer, the
accident occurred on the Baggan-Katli road in Billawar when the cab driver lost
control while negotiating a blind bend.
The three bodies were retrieved, and
the six injured persons were taken to a hospital, according to him. According
to the official, the condition of three of them is critical.
"On the Billawar-Katli route, a
Sumo vehicle swerved off the road and crashed into a deep valley near Riyad
hamlet.”An overloaded Sumo car (HP 83/8180) on its route to Malhar from
Billawar plummeted into the deep gorge at 1.45 a.m. on Friday," claimed
the official.
The police have started an
investigation and started an enquiry into the accident's cause.
